Into Africa JEAN-JACQUES DICKER was born in Geneva, Switzerland. He took his first photo class at the University of Hawaii about 30 years ago. Since then his photographs have been published in numerous magazines all over the world.

Special to the Star-BulletinDicker also published a book of his photographs in 1996 in Switzerland. He is currently working on a collection of photographs for his new book. This one will contain works from his travels in Africa during the 1970s and '80s. He hopes to have it published by the end of this year.
Dicker also has photos in the permanent collections in Switzerland's Foundation for Photography, Hawaii's State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, and at the Bibliotheque Nationale des Arts Contemporains and the Foundation Nationale des Arts Contemporains in Paris, France.
