A 54-year-old woman died in a traffic accident in Pearl City last night at nearly the same spot where two other people died in a crash over the weekend.

Police said the woman was a back-seat passenger in a van that was traveling west on Kamehameha Highway near Pearl Highlands Center. The vehicle crashed into a utility pole about 6 p.m.

Traffic investigators said a city bus hit the van as the van's driver attempted to move from the center lane to the left lane of the highway.

The collision sent the van into the right side of the highway where it slammed into the utility pole.

The woman was taken to Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali Momi where she later died.

The driver of the van, a 19-year-old man, and the other passengers, a 23-year-old woman and a 56-year-old woman, were taken to Queen's Medical Center.

The 56-year-old woman remains at Queen's in fair condition. The driver and the other passenger were treated and released.

No one in the bus was injured.

On Saturday two people were killed when their sport utility vehicle slammed into a utility pole at the Acacia Road intersection then crashed into a vacant office in the Pearl Highlands Center.
