ndaranciang@starbulletin.comThe 16-year-old boy is the fourth Waianae teenager arrested for the murder.
Two 18-year-olds, Branden Adkins and Calvin Dole, have been charged with the murder of William Van Winkle of Waianae.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested Monday but has not been charged. Prosecutors are considering charging him as an adult.
Adkins is expected to be arraigned for second-degree murder in state circuit court next week. Yesterday a Honolulu District Court judge sent the case to the higher court following a preliminary hearing.
Dole is expected to appear back in Honolulu Court tomorrow for his preliminary hearing. He made his initial court appearance yesterday.
Adkins and Dole remain in custody in lieu of $100,000 bail.
A jogger found Van Winkle's beaten body on the basketball courts at the park. The body was naked from the waist down. Police found a pair of shorts in a trash can nearby.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner said Van Winkle died of blunt head trauma.
Police believe the four teenagers were among a larger group of teens when they confronted and beat Van Winkle in the early morning hours of July 14 on their way to the Waianae Boat Harbor.
