A VICTORY ROAR FROM THE DRAGON BOAT

Donna Chun grabbed and waved the flag yesterday
at the finish line as the "Men's Leadership of Hawaii"
crew won its heat during the AT&T Hawaii Dragon
Boat Races in the Ala Moana Beach Park lagoon.
The event brought out numerous crews rowing
the colorful, whimsical vessels.

The Outdoor Circle and Trees of Hawaii held an
educational demonstration on scientifically based
tree-trimming practices at Moanalua Gardens yesterday.
Above, Outdoor Circle project manager and certified
arborist Chris Snyder stood under a $141,000 monkeypod
registered as an "exceptional" tree with the City and
County of Honolulu for its historic and cultural value.
