Dream fair will offer help in exploring slumberland

Understanding and using dreams will be explored today at the free Eckankar Dream Fair at Paki Hale, 3840 Paki Ave.

An 11:15 a.m. puppet show on "How dreams can help you in your daily life" will precede 20-minute workshops on topics ranging from understanding dreams and how dreams can overcome the fear of death.

There will be a 2:30 p.m. session on "the secret wisdom of dreams" and at 4:30 p.m. repeat of the puppet show.

Summer church series discusses children's lives

Health, education and other problems facing children will be discussed in a mission studies summer series, "Children of Africa: Restoring the Village," open to the public.

The 6 p.m. session tomorrow at Christ Church Uniting Disciples and Presbyterians, 1300 Kailua Rd., will feature the Rev. John Norris, who worked with the Peace Corps and USAID in Africa, and Marcia Hartsock, director of Kids Count, University of Hawaii.

The second session, at 6 p.m. Aug. 5 at Keolumana United Methodist Church, 1425 Keolu Dr., will feature Louisa Potgeiter on "Children's health, a dearth of good care and combating AIDS."
