Saturday, July 14, 2001 The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Schuler Homes Inc., which continues to reap the benefits of a booming housing market in the West, surged 9.28 percent this week to lead 13 other companies in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index. Its home, sweet
home, for SchulerHawaiian Airlines Inc., the best-performing Hawaii stock over the last six months, rose 4.94 percent to run its year-to-date gain to 87.6 percent while Central Bank parent CPB Inc. rose 4.61 percent.
Cheap Tickets Inc., which last month issued an earnings warning for the second quarter, tumbled 13.17 percent.
