He is survived by wife Lucy; sons Jayden, Jodie and Jeffrey Jr.; daughter Jamy; mother Inocencia Maruquin; brothers Benjamin Jr., Leslie, Marvin and Myrick Maruquin; sisters Rowena Pasion and Marla Acojido; and a grandson. Bertha Elizabeth Bauer, 95, of Kapolei, died June 26 in Kaiser Medical Center. A former teacher, she moved to Hawaii from Redwood City, Calif., where she also had worked as psychometrist. She was born in Oakland, Calif., and is survived by son George H., daughter Margaret Ann "Peggy" Culbertson, brother George A. Hill, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Romeo Merindilla Bautista, 73, of Waipahu, died Sunday in St. Francis-West Medical Center. He was born in Pampanga, the Philippines. John Berengue, 86, of Kailua, a maintenance worker for Consolidated Theatres, died Wednesday in Honolulu. He was born in Kohala, Hawaii. Marcel Florian "Bevo" Bervar, 80, of Kailua, formerly of Spokane, Wash., a retired salesman, died Tuesday in Castle Medical Center. He was also a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
