Seize the day! Catch some fireworks, free entertainment, grill some hamburgers and hot dogs. Hey baby, it's the Fourth of July.
Following is a list of places where you can hang out with your fellow Americans. Note that the fun begins tonight at Aloha Tower Marketplace:
Ala Moana Center: Live performances by 'Ale'a and Imua at 5 p.m., and Colon, Henry Kapono, Robi Kahakalau, Kalapana and Loyal Garner at 7 p.m., will precede the fireworks show set up at Magic Island. The display, set to music, begins at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow. The fireworks
Honolulu Harbor: Look up in the sky between 8:40 and 9 p.m. today. The show will be visible from Aloha Tower Marketplace.
Kailua Beach Park: The show starts at 8 p.m. tomorrow, but leave home early to stake out your claim to a foot of sand where you can plop down at Kailua Beach Park.
Pearl Harbor: Skyrockets start flight at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow. View the display from Pearl Harbor's Block Party.
Schofield: Fireworks will burst above Sills Field to music by 25th ID (L) Band. The show will run from 8:15 to 8:45 p.m. tomorrow.
>> Aloha Tower Marketplace Festival: Celebrate July 3 with free games and strolling entertainment featuring clowns, jugglers, face painters, magicians and local musicians from 6 to 10 p.m. Games for adults and children include a "bungee run" where participants tied to bungee cords race on an inflated bed; and "aero flight" where individuals harnessed to bungee cords can jump on a trampoline. >> Fireworks Spectacular: Enjoy the Aloha Tower marketplace fireworks display aboard the Starlet, a privately chartered yacht. Cocktails and dancing featured throughout the evening. Boarding at 7:45 p.m., cruise time 8:15 to 10:15 p.m. and fireworks displays from 8:45 p.m. at Kewalo Basin. Costs $30 for kama'aina and $35 general. Drinks start at $3. >> All-American Fiesta: Dita Holifield sings country tunes during an American style feast with entree choices of grilled chicken or barbecue beef ribs, for $10; an 8 ounce New York steak for $12; or a chicken and rib combination for $15 at the Ala Moana Hotel from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The fireworks display over Magic Island can be viewed at 8:30 p.m. Call 955-4811.
>> 4th of July Block Party: A variety of food, E.K. Fernandez rides, carnival games, a craft fair, and a host of live entertainment, including the Ka'ala Boys (6 to 7 p.m.), The Dick Jensen Show (7:30 to 8:30 p.m.), and Honolulu -- The Band (9 to 10 p.m.), will be part of the festivities running 2 to 10 p.m. at the Naval Station Pearl Harbor's Bloch Arena, on Center Drive, near Nimitz Gate. For the younger set there will be a glow-in-the-dark bubbles tent, rock-climbing wall, Jurassic Survivor Obstacle Course, pony rides and petting zoo. Low-rider fans can check out car-hopping demonstrations at 3, 4:30, and 6 p.m. The evening will end with the bang of fireworks from 8:30 p.m. Admission is free. Call the MWR hotline at 473-2434.
The USS Crommelin (FFG 37) will be open free to visitors from 2 to 6 p.m. at Pearl Harbor Bravo Pier 26. Visitors will learn how the ship fulfills its mission to escort and protect carrier battle groups, amphibious landing groups and convoys. For safety reasons, keiki must be at least 8 years old. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for climbing ladders, no skirts. For more information, call 473-2888.
>> Kailua 4th of July: Festivities begin with a 10 a.m. neighborhood parade along Kainalu Drive. At 6:30 p.m. there will be an aerobatic air show over Kailua Beach Park, featuring pilots Hank Bruckner and Clint Churchill, followed by 8 p.m. fireworks display. Call the 261-2727 for information.
>> Kaneohe Marine Base concert: The Marine Forces Pacific Band and its rock 'n' roll band Immediate Action will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. at MCBH Kaneohe's Dewey Square. There will be patriotic music leading up to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, accompanied by ceremonial cannon fire. Bring a blanket to sit on. Call 257-8840.
>> Schofield Barracks 4th of July: The Army celebrates its 30th annual Fourth of July bash on Sills Field, Schofield Barracks. Wake up early for activities that include a fun run, pony rides, game booths, magic show and entertainment, starting at 8 a.m. The 25th ID (L) Band will give a mini concert at 4:05 p.m., followed by the Krush at 4:35 p.m. and the Society of Seven from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Then the 25th ID (L) Band returns to play patriotic tunes and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, in time for the fireworks at 8:15 p.m.

>> Beachside concert: Uncle Sam a k a Sean the Clown with Juggling Monkey Boys and Kenn Serrano's magic and face painting, 4:30 p.m. tomorrow on Whalers Village Center stage. Live bands will entertain on the oceanfront lawn facing Leilani's Whalers Village and Hula Grill. At 4:30 Maui Jazz All-Stars will perform, followed by Bobby Ingram Band playing Motown, swing and blues hits. Fireworks begin at 8:15 p.m. Watch it from Front Street. Call 661-3271. Maui
