Saturday, June 30, 2001 The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Alexander & Baldwin led the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index this week with a gain of 8.18 percent. The real estate and shipping concern posted gains despite having no news since announcing earlier in the month that it would miss earnings expectations by about 10 percent for the quarter. No news is good
news for A&BConversely, Cheap Tickets' announcement Monday that it would miss profit forecasts by a wide margin resulted in a 6.91 percent drop in its stock price for the week.
