Special to the Star-Bulletin

GORDON NAKATA, a computer operator for Liberty House, was doing some spring cleaning when he came across a bunch of photos he took about 30 years ago. At that time Nakata had a passion for photography and spent all his spare time capturing moments on his Nikon FTN camera.

The Star-Bulletin will feature some of Nakata's work over the next three weeks.

Today's photos were taken at Kapiolani Park. Nakata said the people pictured were from Japan. They were practicing kyudo -- once considered the highest form of martial art practiced by samurai.
