Kenneth Masaru Afuso, 79, of Kahaluu, a retired counselor, died June 14 in Castle Medical Center. He was born in Honomu, Hawaii. He is survived by brother Fred, and sisters Edna Y. Taira, Kay K. Nakamine and Edith. Services: 6 p.m. Monday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Casual attire. No flowers.

Adelaide Prioste Calkin, 88, of Lihue, a tour guide for Grayline for 17 years, died Wednesday in Wilcox Memorial Hospital. She was born in Nawiliwili, Kauai. She is survived by son Emery Gifford, daughters Marie Watson and Ilona Souza, sister Angela Luiz, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Lindberg Shan Hoo Ching, 73, of Honolulu, owner of Ken's House of Pancakes in Hilo, died June 4 at home. He was also a retired owner of Lindy's IGA and Lindy's Foods in Kahuku, Hauula and Punaluu. He was born in Punaluu. He is survived by wife Frances L.L.; daughter Debra Ching-Maiava; sons Colin, Tyler and Rowell; brothers Wah Chan, Wah Kam, Walter, Godfrey, Robert, Gerald, Gordon and Vernon; sisters Evelyn Lau, Lillian Ing, Juanita Lam, Abigail Kam, Mary Jane Ching, Vivian Zimmerman and Loretta Nekota, 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. George Hiram Kaualoku, 79, of Pearl City, a retired rigger foreman with the Guam Naval Shipyard, died Monday at home. He is survived by son Kenneth H.; daughters GeorgiAnn Kaualoku and Geraldine and Charlene Lizama; brothers John, Charlie, Daniel, Abraham and James Kaheaku; sisters Lois Chunghoon, Ella Correa, Mary Au, Primrose Punua and Evelyn Kaahanui, and three great-grandsons. Services: 11:45 a.m. July 3 at Ordenstein's Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Call after 9:30 a.m. Burial: Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.

Charles Berthold Klein, 56, of Hilo, a social worker for the Kulani Prison, died Tuesday in Hilo Medical Center. He is survived by mother Geneva, sons Brian and Erich, sisters Linda and Kathleen, and three grandchildren. Scattering of ashes: 6 p.m. Saturday at Leleiwi Beach Park No. 2. Casual attire.

Eric Russell Lee, 45, of Honolulu died June 10 at home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by aunty Elizabeth M. and cousin Michael R. Inurnment services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hawaiian Memorial Park. No flowers.

Hsiang Tsing "Keung" Lee, 82, of Honolulu died next Friday. He was born in China. He is survived by wife Ngan Kar; son Carlton; daughters Susan Yamamoto, Sandra Castro and Sheryl Lee-Higa, and five grandchildren. Services: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Diamond Head Mortuary. Rita D. Lewis, 69, of Kaunakakai, a retired respiratory therapist for Wahiawa General Hospital, died Wednesday in Honolulu. She was born in Los Angeles. She is survived by husband Valentine, three sisters and three brothers. Private services.

Albert Kualii Lyman, 90, of Hilo, a retired lumber buyer for Lewers & Cooke, died June 14 in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by daughters Alberta Robertson and Louana Lambert, brother Charles A., eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services held.

Gertrude Uka Manzano, also known as Gertrude Watson-Yoshimoto, 80, of Ewa Beach died June 5 in St. Francis Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by sons Edmund and Rudolph; sisters Anita Yanagida, Alice Knott and Sophie Mattos; brother George Watson, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Frederick "Coach Gus" Leon Medeiros-Garcia, 58, of Las Vegas, formerly of Molokai and Waipahu, an employee at Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co., died June 7. He was also retired from Hawaiian Telephone Co. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Christie; children Kimberly, Jonrick, Kristan, Jaerick, Lyle, Lyno and Frederick "Freddie;" father Damaso "Clem" Clemente; brothers George Iwane and Derek and Glenn Clemente; sister Bernadette "Bernie" Iwane, and three grandsons. Wake services: 7 p.m. Monday at Mililani Downtown Mortuary. Call from 6 to 9 p.m. Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Call after 9 a.m. Burial: Hawaiian Memorial Park. Dwayne Daniel Kalaunuiohua Smith, 30, of Kaneohe is also survived by grandmother Alice K. The mortuary provided incorrect information for an obituary published yesterday.

Hisako "Violet" Sugita, 82, of Naalehu, Hawaii, died last Friday in Kau Hospital. She was born in Naalehu, Hawaii. She is survived by husband Tamotsu, sons Thomas and James, daughter Jane Morioka, sister Toshiko Hamada, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Private services.

Faransiro Tamala, 79, of Hilo is also survived by daughters Sheila, Donna and Frances. The mortuary provided additional information for an obituary published Wednesday.

Gilbert Tokuo Yoshida, 71, of Honolulu, a retired insurance general agent, died June 8. He was also a retired Hawaii Air National Guardsman. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Ruth; sons Gaylen, Kekoa and Garett; sisters Jean Seki, Jane Shirae and May Mori, and two granddaughters. Memorial services: 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Call after 5 p.m.
