Loo, who replaces Judith T. Fong, serves as a director for the K.J. Luke Foundation, the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific and Variety School of Hawaii. Her term expires on April 2004.
Young was a member of the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1990 to 1994. She serves on the board of the Asian-Pacific Islander National Cancer Survivor Network and is currently the director of marketing and volunteer services for the American Cancer Society. Her term ends in May 2004.
Suzawa is an assistant vice president for the workers' compensation claims unit at Island Insurance Company Ltd. Her term expires in April 2007.
Yamagata is an independent insurance broker with Business Insurance Services Inc. Moon designated Yamagata to serve as chairman of the board for the duration of his term. His term expires in February 2003.
The Commission on Judicial Conduct investigates allegations of judicial misconduct and disability. It was established by the Supreme Court of Hawaii in June 1979.
The Judicial Selection Commission is made up of nine members who serve six-year terms without compensation.
