Expect aliens and spies

This preview of films opening this weekend runs Tuesdays in the Star-Bulletin:

Evolution -- Director Ivan Reitman ("Ghostbusters") puts his comedic spin on a sci-fi flick about a meteor carrying alien organisms that hits a New Mexico desert, threatening to speed up the planet's evolutionary process. Besides featuring a whole mess of F/X, the ragtag bunch of humans who try to save Earth are led by actors David Duchovny, Julianne Moore and Orlando Jones (PG-13).

Swordfish -- The world's most dangerous spy (John Travolta) is hired by the CIA to coerce, with the help of his comely associate (Halle Berry) a computer hacker (Hugh Jackman) recently released from prison to help steal billions in unused government bonds. "Gone In 60 Seconds" director Dominic Sena and the studio hope this movie doesn't tank like his debut, but the buzz is good on this one (R).
