Star-BulletinThe Hawaii Book Publishers Association and University of Hawaii-Manoa's Outreach College, with aid from the Department of Business and Economic Development, is hosting a "Get Published!" one-day seminar, 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. June 23 at Krauss Hall 012, Yukiyoshi Room, University of Hawaii-Manoa.
The seminar is followed by a reception at the East-West Center.
Guests include Shelly Mecum, author of "God's Photo Album"; Glen Grant, author of "Obake Files" and "Chicken Skin"; book agent Roger Jellinek; and Wayne Levin, photographer of "Through a Liquid Mirror."
Local publishing professionals and authors will share their knowledge and experience from the fundamentals to book design and marketing. The seminar includes lectures, panel discussions, a question-and-answer period and times set aside for personal questions.
Bring a brown-bag lunch. After the seminar the informal reception includes complimentary pupu and drinks. Cost is $75.
