Matthew George Brencick, 83, of Kamuela, a retired Missouri state investigator, died Monday at home. He was born in St. Louis, Mo. He is survived by son Matthew E.; daughter Janice; hanai sons Harry and John Manion; and nine grandchildren.

Kenneth Lin Tim "Timmy" Ching, 67, of Honolulu, a retired Aloha Airlines inspector, died Tuesday in the Queen's Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Dorothy L. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Diamond Head Mortuary. Call after 9 a.m. Burial to follow at Diamond Head Memorial Park.

Sang Hak Choi, 83, of Honolulu died Monday. He was born in Korea. He is survived by wife Ok Soon; sons John, Chi Soo and Chi Man; daughters Yang Ja Choi Kuhn, Eun Hee Kwak; and six grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. tomorrow at Nuuanu Mortuary. Call after 10:30 a.m. Burial: 2 p.m. at Valley of the Temples.

Audrey C. Comba, 87, of Waikiki, died May 1 in Kaiser Foundation Hospital. She was born in Pine Falls, Manitoba, Canada. No service held.

John Forrest Cross, 84, of Hilo, a former Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corp. manager and a World War II veteran, died Wednesday in the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Ogden, Utah. He is survived by wife Dorothy C.; son John C.; daughter Kay L. Harper; sister Kay Beattie; and five grandchildren. Services: 3 p.m. Friday at the Hilo Yacht Club. Aloha attire. Mary Quinta Gray, 83, of Honolulu, a retired houskeeper, died Thursday in the St. Francis Hospice in Liliha. She was born in Waialua. She is survived by son George C.; daughter Dorothy Ryans; brother Manuel Quinta; sisters Emily Freitas and Isabel Soares; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mass: noon Thursday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace. Burial: 1 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park.

Mitsuo Honma, 72, of Kealakekua, a retired hotel maintenance worker, died May 12 in Kona Community Hospital. He was born in Kealakekua. He is survived by daughters Merna Izawa, Laura Kitahara, Nadine Morimoto and Nancym; brothers Yoshio, Hideo, Masato and Harold; sisters Alice Bailey, Ann Sakazaki and Fumiko Kaneshiro; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Thurston Juro Kuroyama, 90, of Hilo, a retired Hilo High School social studies teacher, died Thursday in the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Kamuela. He is survived by wife Kamie; son Keith; daughters Lynn Del Rosario and Dale Yamamoto; brother Hachiro; sisters Tsuino Yoshiki and Misao Nishijima; and two grandchildren. Shigeki Matsushima, 87, of Honolulu, a retired Dillingham Corp. machinist, died Tuesday in the Queen's Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu. Beatrice Midori Nakano, 71, of Honolulu, a retired office clerk with Abbott Laboratories, died Monday in the Queen's Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu. Clara Hisako Nishimoto, 85, of Honolulu, a retired hairstylist, died May 9 at home. She was born in Honolulu. Dorothy "Fuzzy" McDiarmid Winsley Prentice, 85, of Kaneohe, formerly a real estate agent and secretary for Hawaiian Trust, died Friday. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by son James; daughters Pamela Freed, Leslie Laurance and Cynthia; sister Lois Silverman; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Edna Akiko Shirota, 60, of Hilo, a pantry worker for Kawamoto Vegetable Store and Freddy's Restaurant, died last Sunday in the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Pepeekeo.
