HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
This guy's got his bases covered -- all 4 of 'em

KEN SAKAMOTO / STAR-BULLETIN
Navy Petty Officer 1st class Jon Merritt bought four bouquets
from Beretania Florist yesterday for the women in his life: one
each for his mother, his girlfriend, her mother and his elderly
neighbor. Then he packed them all into
his two-seater sports car.
GOT BOAT?
Students stay afloat in a race of milk-carton schooners

KEN SAKAMOTO / STAR-BULLETIN
Yesterday was the 5th Annual Meadow Gold Milk Carton Regatta
at Ala Moana Beach Park. Austin Bello, front, and Frankie
Villalpando, both 8th-grade students at Wahiawa Middle School,
took 2nd place in their division. The two-person, student-built boats
were made with half-gallon milk cartons, wood, lots of tape, and
tons of imagination.
