>> Laie-based Hawaii Reserves Inc. has named R. Eric Beaver president and chief executive officer. Beaver joined HRI in 1994 following his graduation from Brigham Young University Law School. Former CEO Daniel T. Ditto will become vice chairman of strategic projects for the company, which operates Laie Water Co. and Laie Treatment Works.

>> Gordon Furuto Jr. has been named director of client services for the Information Technology Services Division at Hawaii Pacific University. He will manage the team that provides technical support to the faculty and staff of HPU. Furuto joined the university in 1997 as associate director of client services.

>> Hospice Hawaii has promoted Aurora Puyot to bookkeeper and Hazel Fernando to billing clerk. Puyot joined Hospice Hawaii in 1998 as a billing clerk. Fernando was previously a data entry clerk for the company.

Recognition

>> Glenn Takasato has been named Hawaii Association of Mortgage Brokers' Mortgage Broker of the Year for 2000. He was voted by his peers to have best exemplified the attributes of honesty and integrity in business over the course of the previous 12 months. Takasato is president of Mortgage Specialists, a company he started in 1990.

>> Lora Han has been named communications and public relations manager at DFS Hawaii. Han was most recently public relations manager at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
