Bryna Mahiai Akana, 34, of Honolulu died Monday in Queen's Medical Center. She was born in California. She is survived by mother Suzanne, sister Camolin Akana-Becker and grandfather Douglas E. Anderson. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Nativity Church. Call after 10:30 a.m.

Claire Kahaulauliko Apoliona, 90, of Honolulu died April 23. She was born in Kona. She is survived by sons Samuel Kenneth III and Francis; daughters Shirlee Kessler, Patricia "Patti" Smart and Elizabeth "Leimomi" Brown; brothers Alonzo and Edson Hutchinson; and three grandchildren. Nicholas Barbara, 85, of San Pedro, Calif., a former captain for the Matson Navigation Co. for 40 years, died Feb. 28. He was born in San Pedro. He is survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services 11 a.m. Friday at Oahu Cemetery.

Nicolasa Medina Barot, 85, of Honolulu died Monday at home. She was born in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines. She is survived by daughter Celia, sister Hortencia Nicolas and four grandchildren. Francis Lehua "Porky" "Honey" Brown Sr., 71, of Hilo, a retired Criminal Investigation Division lieutenant for the Hawaii County Police Department for 27 years, died April 26 at home. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by wife Patricia H.; son Francis Jr.; daughters June L. Ngaden, Eileen H., Joanne K. and Ululani C. Brown; and four grandchildren. Private family services.

Jack A. Burnett, 90, of Honolulu, the owner of radio station KULA, died April 25 in Honolulu. He was born in Bethlehem, Pa. He is survived by daughter Jacquelyn Helen, brother Col. James and caregivers Aiona Kaufusi and Lenisi and Atu Fatai. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Sunday at Diamond Head Memorial Park.

Esmenia Corpuz Domingo, 75, of Pearl City, a Waikiki Gateway Hotel retiree, died April 7. She was born in Laoag City, Philippines. She is survived by husband Alejo "Lico"; sons Manuel, Danilo and Albert; daughters Nenita Domingo, Jocelyn Advincula and Lydia Berdadero; sister Cesaria Corpuz and eight grandchildren. Dolores Iwalani "DI" Ioane, also known as "Pocho" and "Lopez," 47, of Waipahu, a service clerk at Sears Service Center and an employee at Del Monte Cannery, died April 12. She was born in Honolulu. Anthony "Tony" Leonard Moniz, 52, of Kahului, a sales associate at Lowes, died Monday at home. He was born in Paia, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Dora; sons Randall, Bryant, Rickie and Elson; daughter Gwendolyn Onaka; brothers Hiroshige and Rikio; sisters Evangeline Otsuka, Lenore Shirakawa and Setsue Okuda; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Allan Roland Shigeru Rodrigues, 75, of Wailuku, a retired engineer for Maui County, died April 20 at home. He is survived by wife Barbara, son Wayne, daughter Gail Tamanaha, sister Claire Kaya and six grandchildren. Private services held.

Royal "George" West, 75, of Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Honolulu, a retired sales and commercial arts employee of 45 years, died April 23. He was born in Auburn, Calif. He is survived by son George T., daughters Marilyn Hernandez and Carolyn Harris, brothers Lloyd and Carl, sisters Norma Tinnerman and Pat Welch, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. No memorial services will be held. Ashes will be scattered into the Pacific Ocean off California.
