Owls close in on
ILH title

Star-Bulletin staff

Mid-Pacific pitcher Justin Pate helped the Owls clinch at least a share of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu regular season baseball title by tossing a complete-game 3-0 shutout against Damien yesterday.

Pate struck out 10 batters for the Owls, who can wrap up the championship and one of the league's two berths in next month's state tournament with a win over Pac-Five today at Ala Wai Field.

Isaac Omura went 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in two runs, to provide Pate with all the support he would need.
