Merrie sound in Hilo

Singing and dancing performances get folks in
the mood at Hawaii's largest hula competition

The Royal Court Dancers (Halau O Kekuhi) start their performance
with a chant at last night's prelude to the 38th annual Merrie Monarch
Festival. The Miss Aloha Hula contest starts tonight.

Fuego Nuevo de Mexico troupe dancers from Mexico entertained the
crowd last night in Hilo during a prelude to tonight's event. The
competition will be carried live on local ABC affiliate KITV-4
through Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. The station will air
live streaming video over the Internet.

The new Celebrity Cruise ship Infinity docked at Pier 2 of Honolulu
Harbor this week. The 965-foot-long, 91,000-ton ship carries up to
1,950 passengers between Ensenada, Mexico and Hawaii.
