Asatomo Akaji, 77, of Lawai, Kauai, proprietor of Akaji Manju Store, died March 19 at home. He was born in Koloa, Kauai. He is survived by brothers Bumpei and Steven, and sisters Bernice Osborne and Suzue Shimamoto. Private services.

Malelega Bartley-Pele, 45, of Honolulu, a registered nurse for Straub Clinic and Hospital, died Wednesday. She was born in Fagaalu, American Samoa. She is survived by husband Uitinese Pele; sons Nathan, Timothy and Jedidiah; daughters Esther, Shulammite, Angelina and Lucia; mother Seleni Bartley; brothers Lavala, Papu, Sipili, Petelo, Filipo, Dino and Dezy Bartley; and sisters Lucia Bartley, Silia Ta'amu, Katelina Liliu, Filomena Murphy and Malia Durr. Eric H. Beyer, 30, of Honolulu, who worked for Oceanic Institute and Tihati Productions, died Sunday. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by father Rick W., mother Constance M. Reynolds, sister Dawn, grandmother Jean Kistler, stepmother Patricia S., stepfather Ken Reynolds, stepgrandfather Richard Kistler, stepgrandmother Priscilla Lee, hanai father Tony Festa and hanai brother Bill Barnum. Henry A.L. Chong, 77, of Hilo, a retired Hawaii County police officer, died Wednesday at home. He was born in Hilo. Arsenio Tabelisma Cristobal, 90, of Eleele, Kauai, a truck driver for Kauai Commercial, died Wednesday in Kauai Veterans Hospital. He was born in the Philippines.
