HPU nursing program gets 5-year accreditation

The graduate nursing program at Hawaii Pacific University received a five-year accreditation this month by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission.

The program, which started in 1998 with 10 students, now has 27 students and three graduates. Accreditation substantiates the program's quality and resources, according to Patricia Lange-Otsuka, graduate nursing program coordinator.

The Master of Science in Nursing program offers two concentrations: Community Health Clinical Nurse-Specialist or Family Nurse Practitioner.

Lange-Otsuka said the accreditation team noted administrative support and the nursing faculty's leadership role at the university among the program's strengths. For more information, call Graduate Admissions at 544-0279.
