The University of San Diego softball team snapped Hawaii Pacific University's 15-game winning streak yesterday with a 5-0 victory in the second game of a nonconference doubleheader at the HPU windward campus field. Sea Warriors

Star-Bulletin staffThe loss marked the first time the Sea Warriors (26-2) have been shut out this season. It was also the first home loss in 22 games for HPU.
In the first game, HPU won its 15th straight, edging USD, 1-0.
Tascha Berinobis' double down the left-field line in the first inning scored Brandy Choy Foo with the only run of the game.
Sea Warrior pitcher Malia Sullivan (12-1) tossed her fourth shutout of the season, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out three.
HPU left today for an 11-day trip to northern California. The Sea Warriors will compete in the 21-team Pioneer Classic, hosted by Cal State Hayward, opening with Humboldt State.
HPU is also scheduled to play Sonoma State in a doubleheader on March 28 and a doubleheader at UC Davis on March 30.
