>>Gary E. Oda has joined Allied Builders System as vice president and chief financial officer of the contracting firm. Oda most recently served as vice president and controller of the Kahala Mandarin Oriental.>> Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaii has appointed two new people to its regional sales team: Lisa DeCambra Morrill as director of travel industry sales and Ron Hee as director of leisure group sales. Morrill was most recently director of sales and marketing for Molokai Ranch. Hee was most recently director of sales and marketing for Sheraton Moana Surfrider and Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel.
>>Kyle K. Nakamoto was named an associate at Group 70 International Inc. A project architect with Group 70, Nakamoto has experience in commercial, residential, educational and resort projects as well as due diligence studies, interior design and construction administration.
Promotions
>>Tracie Mukai was promoted to branch manager for the Finance Factors Kailua branch. Mukai joined Finance Factors in 1996 and most recently served as a sales support specialist.>> Haseko Construction Inc. has promoted Adam Sutton from project manager to vice president to oversee home construction operations at its new 1,100-acre master planned community of Ocean Pointe. Sutton will be responsible for design detail and product development, materials and methods research, development and implementation, contract awards and administration, quality control, home turn-over and customer service. He has been with Haseko since 1988.
Recognition
>> James R. Bell of Belt Collins has been selected as fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners. The distinction recognizes individuals for their significant contributions in planning education, research, professional practice, public or community service and leadership. He also became a member of the College of Fellows, involved in mentoring and the advancement of the profession of planning. Bell has been an AICP member since 1957 and has served as chapter director in Oregon and chapter president in Hawaii.
