Kid cooks invited to
enter recipe contest

Hoku the Keiki Honu is a hungry little turtle, working all day as mascot for the Pearlridge Center Keiki Club. Help feed him, why don't you, by submitting recipes for snacks, and maybe someone over there at the mall will fix something up for him.

Doesn't have to be fishy, either. Hoku has a very eclectic palate.

Kids are invited to enter the Keiki Snack Attack contest by sending in recipes for snacks that can be prepared without stove-top cooking. Eight will be selected to be demonstrated at a special Keiki Tuesday program. Those eight winners will also receive $25 Pearlridge gift certificates.

Keiki Tuesday is a free weekly event, held 10:30 a.m. to noon at Pearlridge Uptown.

Send entries to Keiki Snack Attack, 231 Pearlridge Center, Aiea 96701. Call 488-0981. Deadline is April 10.
