The Garden Isle shows off its bounty at the Kauai Festival, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Ward Warehouse.

Kauai's farming and food-production facilities are growing, but many of these homegrown items are available only on the island. Save yourself a plane ticket and sample grown-on-Kauai products to be offered at the festival, including:

Bullet Smoked meat from Namahana Catering in Waimea, where owner Wailana Mata smokes pork herself in her own smokehouse.

Bullet Kauai shrimp, that sweet variety that has grown popular with many island chefs. Tropic's Diner from Ward Farmer's Market will hold a cooking demonstration featuring the shrimp at 2:30 p.m.

Bullet All-natural honey from Garden Isle Honey, the largest producer of honey in the state.

Bullet Powered kava from Kava Kauai, including Bee Mellow, a powered kava that contains honey.

Bullet Also, asparagus from Haupu Growers, Kauai corn from Syngenta, poi from Makaweli Poi and kulolo from Kapaa Poi Factory.

Entertainment will be provided by Halau Hula O Leilani of Kauai and Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Maile of Oahu.
