San Francisco Opera Center Singers
The San Francisco Opera Center Singers perform at Brigham Young University-Hawaii at 7:30 p.m. today. Singers range from
opera to BroadwayThe ensemble of singers from the San Francisco Opera's resident artist program will present music ranging from grand opera to Broadway classics.
Tickets are $15 general, $7 for senior citizens and $9 for BYUH faculty and staff. BYUH students with valid IDs will be admitted free.

International rap star Coolio will appear in a live video and concert March 24 at Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park in Kapolei. Coolio heads to Kapolei
Coolio is also starring in the upcoming movie, "Tyrone," written and directed by Chris Palzis, a local boy and Punahou graduate. Coolio plays the title character, twin brother and triplet sister. Tying all this together is a computer contest entitled "How Cool is Your School?"
The best school answer will receive 15 new computers. The contest is hosted by Xtreme Radio @ 104.3. Applications may be submitted through the radio station or dropped off at Jeans Warehouse locations. Other sponsors include Meadow Gold, Jeans Warehouse and Wireless (not Gangsta's) Paradise.
Tickets to Coolio's concert are $20 for adults and $15 for keiki under 12. Tickets may be purchased at Wireless Paradise at 320 Ward Ave., Suite 111.

Formed in 1977 on Valentine's Day, the Romantics were icons of the '80s music scene with such infectious pop hits as "That's What I Like About You," "One in a Million" and "Talking in Your Sleep."
Tickets for the age 21 and over show are $13 per evening at the door, or $10 with an advance pass good for all three nights. Doors will open at 8 p.m.
Tickets may be purchased at the club or the Gold Zone in Wahiawa.

Her poise, carriage and skill at making lei and dancing the hula won Kathryn Piilani Bell of Hawaii Kai the title of 2001 Lei Queen at a competition held earlier this month. New Lei Queen chosen
She will preside over the city Department of Parks and Recreation Lei Day Celebration May 1 at Kapiolani Park.
Bell, a customer service agent for Continental Airlines, enjoys lauhala weaving, canoe paddling, golf, tennis and swimming.
Children in the second grade are invited to jump into "Splash," a free program in basic water safety and swimming being offered by the West Oahu Family YMCA. Free water safety course

Movies filmed here will be celebrated in "Hulawood," -- That's Entertainment in Hawaii!, a benefit for the Hawaii Theatre Center that begins at 6:30 p.m. April 27 at the Kahala Mandarin. Starring Hawaii
The cost is $175 per person; tables for 10 are priced from $1,750 to $10,000. There will be cocktails; a "Hooray for Hulawood" auction; dinner; entertainment by Guy Merola, Cathy Foy and Jonathan Von Brana; and dancing to music by Willie Barton and his orchestra. Tom Moffatt will emcee the black tie-optional event.
