Global finance firm to be based in isles

An international banking and financial services company, Infoserve International Inc., has opened its world headquarters in Honolulu, in the First Interstate Building on South King Street. Infoserve began in the Philippines and serves 70 major banks there, with more than 700 branches. Now owned by a U.S. investor group, it recently has been taking its Megabanker software and other financial services applications to other countries, including Bangladesh, Brazil, Malaysia, Singapore, Kuwait and the United States.

The new headquarters is headed by George Lissandrello, president and chief operating officer, and Carlos E. Pacca de Almeida, vice president for international marketing. The firm said it expects to add a staff of 10 this year. Infoserve has an alliance with Pacific Business Services, a longtime Hawaii provider of hardware and software.
