Waipahu's Brian Viloria, the world amateur light flyweight champion and former Olympian, plans to make his pro boxing debut on May 15 on the undercard of a Jesus Salud tuneup bout here.

Salud and Viloria both confirmed this morning they will be fighting on the same card and that the event will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2.

Salud said the contract for the event has not yet been signed and details are still being worked out. But he said the preferred site is Pearl Harbor.

No opponents have been announced.

Viloria said he is soon to sign a three-year deal with promoter Lou DiBella, and he has also decided on a manager. DiBella has several of Viloria's fellow Olympians from Sydney under contract.

Viloria said he expects to move to Los Angeles this month to establish a training headquarters and possibly enroll at UCLA.

Before deciding to turn pro, Viloria had considered enrolling at the University of Hawaii.
