Christian Homeschoolers of Hawaii is signing up participants for its annual Conference Curriculum Fair, taking place March 16 and 17 at Kalihi Union Church. Parents only, no children allowed. Christian Home-
schoolers conferenceSessions will run from 7 to 9 p.m. on the 16th and 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Workshop topics range from how to begin homeschooling, to homeschooling high schoolers, and "How to Teach" workshops for subjects such as Latin and math. There will also be information for parents of children with special needs.
The speaker Friday evening and Saturday morning is Michael P. Farris, a constitutional lawyer and author who was named as one of the most significant 100 "Faces of a Century" in education by Education Week magazine. He will speak about "The Battle for Your Right to Homeschool" and "Homeschooling Fathers."
Farris' wife Vickie Farris, Eagle Forum's 1997 national homemaker of the year, will also present a workshop, on dealing with priorities and scheduling.
The fee for the conference is $50 per couple, $40 for a single person, and people may attend whichever sessions they wish. To register, call Christian Homeschoolers of Hawaii at 689-6398.

Doris Asato Memorial Scholarships: Two $1000 scholarships are available for business majors in accounting, management, office administration and technology. Graduating seniors from Leeward and Central district public schools with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 are eligible.
Students must also be a full-time student seeking an Associate of Applied Science degree. Financial need is not a requirement. Applications are available from high school counselors or by contacting Linda Takeuchi at 455-0645. Application deadline is April 20.
