'wonderful human,' dies at 90

Mary A. Ahsing, 66, of Honolulu, a teacher's aide at Our Lady of Good Counsel, died Wednesday at home. She was born in Valparaiso, Ind. She is survived by husband George, daughters Bethann and Napua, sister Jean Jones, brother Owen Moneypenny and three grandchildren. Mass: 8 p.m. Monday at St. Philomena Church. Minnie Arial, 87, of Pearl City, died last Saturday. She was born in Waialua. She is survived by sons Rudolph and Gilbert; daughters Eleanor Ching, Loretta Edmunds and Rosemarie Ferreira; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Edward C. Barney Jr., 54, of Honolulu, died Wednesday in Queen's Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu. Marion W. "May" Bauckham, 90, of Honolulu, died Feb. 15 in Kailua. She was born in Darvel, Scotland. She is survived by sons James, Arthur, Douglas and D. David S. Chijimatsu, 53, of Honolulu, an equipment mechanic for Hawaiian Electric, died Feb. 1 in Ewa Beach. He is survived by daughters Shelby Kauweloa and Christy Chijimatsu, son Shaun, sister Ruth Mikami, brother Kenny, companion Winnie Amii and two grandchildren. Private services.

Gertrude Gambino, 88, of Kailua, died Wednesday at home. She was born in New York. She is survived by son Thomas, sister Anna Capodici and a grandchild. Services in New York.

James Gomes, 76, of Pukalani, Maui, a retired truck driver for Fuller-O'Brien Paint Co., died Tuesday in Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in San Leandro, Calif. He is survived by wife Linda, son Mike, daughter Kathleen White and three grandchildren. Private services.

Rosario L. Goroza, 76, of Waipahu died Feb. 23. She was born in Puna, Hawaii. She is survived by husband Alejandro; sons George, Alejandro, Ernesto and Alfredo; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
