Kamehameha coach
Kroeger returns
for playoffs

Star-Bulletin staff

Micah Kroeger will be back on the sidelines as the Kamehameha boys' varsity basketball coach for tonight's Interscholastic League of Honolulu playoff game against Damien.

Kroeger, in his first year with the Warriors, had been placed on administrative leave last week pending an investigation into complaints by some of the players' parents.

The matter was resolved following a meeting between parents, athletic director Blane Gaison and school principal Tony Ramos. Kroeger missed last week's regular-season finale against Maryknoll but returned to practice Monday.

"We're coming together as a team,'' Kroeger said yesterday.

"We're not looking back but looking forward to one common goal, that is making the state tournament.''

Kamehameha faces Damien at 5:30 p.m., while St. Louis takes on Mid-Pacific at 7:30 p.m. at Punahou.

The winners advance to tomorrow's 7 p.m. game at Iolani which will determine the ILH's third entry into next week's state tourney.

ILH champion Iolani and second place Punahou have already qualified for the state tournament.

Kalaheo, Mililani tonight

On the final day of the Oahu Interscholastic Association season, Kalaheo and Mililani meet for the first time.

In the OIA championship game tonight at Blaisdell Arena, the Mustangs (12-0) look to reclaim the league crown and the Trojans (10-2) try for their first title ever.
