Brigham Young-Hawaii overcame a six-point halftime deficit to defeat Alaska-Fairbanks, 81-77, last night in a Pacific West Conference game at the Cannon Activities Center in Laie. Seasiders come back

The Seasiders were behind by as many as nine points early in the second half. But trailing, 50-43, with 15:44 left, they went on a 10-0 run in 51 seconds to take a three-point lead and never trailed again.
Sophomore Walter Gates scored a career-high 18 points and had eight rebounds, and Jeremy Frampton scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half for the Seasiders. Brian Skinner also scored 17 points on 7-for-8 shooting, including 3-for-3 on 3-pointers.
The Nanooks managed to tie the game at 61 midway through the second half, but Frampton scored two baskets to cinch the win.
The Seasiders improved to 12-9 overall and 6-6 in the PacWest, while the Nanooks, led by Travis Knutson and Bogdan Popescu with 17 points each, fell to 6-14 and 5-6.
Both teams meet again tonight at the Cannon Center.

HPU 99, Alaska-Anchorage 84: At Blaisdell Arena, Nash Subotic scored 24 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the Sea Warriors past the Seawolves.Hawaii Pacific went on an 11-2 run with 10:53 left in the first half to pull away.
The Sea Warriors did not trail the entire game.
Subotic was 4-for-13 from 3-point land. Nick Spajic scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Damien High School graduate Kawika Smith added 17 points.
Ed Kirk led Anchorage with 23 points in 39 minutes of playing time.
HPU improved to 9-12 overall and 4-8 in the PacWest. Anchorage fell to 13-7 and 7-4.
