Also of note -- The Bruins lost their season opener to UC Riverside, 10-6, when the Highlanders scored four runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth. ... The last four series between the teams have been sweeps. UCLA won all three games in 1997 and 2000 while the Rainbows swept three-game series in 1998 and 1999.
