Performance takes art
‘Off the Wall’

Art doesn't always make a whole lotta sense so storyteller Jeff Gere and a bunch of his musically inclined friends have taken it upon themselves to interpret visual art works through performance.

Joining Gere will be sonic artist Steven Rosenthal, jazz musician Joe Gallivan and playwright and author Sean O'Malley, who is a founding member of the Loose Screws improvisational comedy troupe.

The next "Art Off the Wall" event takes place 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Saturday at The Contemporary Museum, where Gere and Co. will interpret the ceramic sculpture of Robert Arneson, the fuzzy atmospheric photos of Bill Jacobson and an assortment of TCM's recent acquisitions.

Admission is $10; $5 for TCM members. For reservations, call 526-1322.
