The Society of Professional Journalists, Hawaii chapter, will offer six full-time and two part-time paid internships this summer to college students interested in pursuing careers in journalism. Journalism society

Hawaii residents who have completed their sophomore year at an institute of higher learning here or on the mainland are eligible for the internships.
The full-time internships last 10 weeks and pay $3,000. They include the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, KGMB News, Pacific Business News, Honolulu Publishing Co., Trade Publishing Co., and Pacific News.net.
Part-time internships will be offered at KHON and KITV news and last eight weeks at 24 hours per week for $1,200.

Within the letter of application, candidates should state their career goals, explain their interest in journalism, indicate which internships they are most interested in and include full addresses and phone numbers.
Late applications will not be accepted and application materials will not be returned. Candidates will be informed on or about March 1 if they are finalists, who will go on participate in a proficiency test and interview.
Interns will be selected on or about March 10.
