Johnny R. Bonoan, 98, of Honolulu, a retired head utility steward for Hilton Hawaiian Village, died Dec. 9 in Honolulu. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by sons Dipolo, Juan, Pedro and Moses Cabalse and Juan Jr., Douglas and Abraham Bonoan; daughters Mercedes Pabro, Rosalina Garo, Marcelina Acasio, Natalie and Caroline Bonoan and Dolores Satterlee; 31 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. Juan C. Calma, 93, of Honolulu, a retired Dole Co. employee, died Saturday in Honolulu. He was born in the Philippines. He is survived by wife Ida C.; sons Dante and Rudy Macabeo and John Calma; daughter Thelma Macabeo, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Florence Y.L.L. Chee, 90, of Honolulu, former proprietor of Aloha Health Foods, died Monday in Honolulu. She was born in Waipahu. She is survived by sons Alwin, Bernard and Lyle; daughter Diana; brothers Arthur, John, Hang Quon, Kwai Quon and Kenneth Lee; sisters Lani Lumibao, Koon Chi Chong and Amy Young, 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Jean Marie Fargo, 74, formerly of Honolulu and Kamuela, Hawaii, assistant and associate professor of Family Studies at the University of Hawaii, died Nov. 22 in Weaverville, N.C. She also was a former director of volunteer development for the Neighborhood Justice Center in Honolulu. She was born in St. Joseph, Mo. She is survived by son Dan; daughter Nancy; brother Robert Greenberg, and four grandchildren. Memorial contributions suggested to the Mediation Center of the Pacific.

June Swaner Gates, 79, of Denver and Hawaii died Saturday at home. She is survived by husband Charles C. Jr.; son John S.; daughter Diane G. Wallach, and five grandsons. Services held.

Walter G. Gray, of Honolulu, a retired printer for the U.S. Naval Publication and Printing Services, Pearl Harbor, died Tuesday in Arcadia Retirement Residence. He was born in Wahiawa. He was also a former printer for the Honolulu Advertiser. He is survived by wife Harriet; sons Walter Jr., Thomas and Noel; sister Helen Nawaa, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Lillian "Lilliana" Gregg, 79, of Wailua Homesteads, Kauai died Wednesday at home. She was born in Santa Cruz, Calif. She is survived by sons Michael, Donny Jo and David B. Soza; daughters Diane "Tonya" Keaton, Dorothy Nakazawa and Doralene Gregg; brothers Earl Meyers and George Romano; sister Marjorie Squerie, 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Richard H. Kadotani, 68, of Lahaina, Maui, a retired teacher at John Marshall High School in Los Angeles, died Dec. 20 in Hale Makua. He was born in Lahaina, Maui. He is survived by sisters Edna Fukumoto and Aimee Watanabe. Private services.

Wade N. Kamehiro, 77, of Honolulu, a retired custodian for St. Andrew's Priory, died Dec. 18 in St. Francis Hospice. He was born in Lihue, Kauai. He is survived by sons Roy K. and George K.; sister Gladys F. Tamura, and three grandchildren. Private services.

Lloyd T. "Take" Kaneshiro, 80, of Kamuela, Hawaii, a retired proprietor of L. Kaneshiro & Sons Inc. general contracting company, died Wednesday in North Hawaii Community Hospital. He was born in Kona, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Ethel; sons Melvin and Arnold; daughters Karen Santos and Sharyn Rodriguera; brother Albert; sisters Aileen Hokama, Alyce Yamaguchi and Alfrieda Kiyuna, six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
