The resort has showcased the work of local artists since it opened. A decade later, it is nearly finished with a five-month renovation of the artwork in guest rooms and the Great Hall.
Next up in the Lanai Visiting Artist program are authors Andrew Sarris and Molly Haskell.
The husband-and-wife team will be on hand Jan. 6 for a discussion of the movies of 2000 and their picks for the Oscars.
Sarris, a film critic with the New York Observer, has written about movies for more than 40 years. Haskell, also a film critic, has written for the Village Voice, New York Magazine and Vogue, among others.
The discussion takes place 8:30 to 10 p.m. at Koele's sister property, the Manele Bay Hotel. Admission is free.
If quiet time is what you need, the lodge has expanded its afternoon tea service, which is offered 3 to 5 p.m. daily.
Regular activities include golf tennis, a spa horseback riding and a sporting clays and archery range.
