Athletes of the Week
Kolo Kapanui He averaged just under 16 points a game for the Warriors in the Iolani Classic, highlighted by a 21-point effort in a near-upset of St. Joseph (Calif.) and two 18 points outings.
KAMEHAMEHA BASKETBALL
Ianeta Lei Threw an extra-inning no hitter in team's 1-0 win over HBA/SA/SF. In 8 innings, she walked two and struck out three. She also tossed a complete game, six-hitter against Sacred Hearts.

Here are some of last week's other outstanding performers in Hawaii high school sports: Honor Roll
BASKETBALL
Rashaun Broadus, Mililani: Scored 16 points in a win against St. Albert (Canada) in the Palama Settlement Christmas Tournament, and 11 in the title game against Leigh (Calif.).DC Daniels, Kalaheo: Scored 21 points in fifth place game against Montclair Prep (Calif.) in Las Vegas Tournament, and also had games of 20 and 18 points in the tourney.
Eric Marshall, Leilehua: Scored 23 points against nationally-ranked Montrose in the Iolani Classic, 16 against Hilo and 20 against Radford.
SOCCER
Jarrett Apilapo and Travis Ostrem, Kahuku: Each scored three goals in a win over Farrington.Adria Campbell, Punahou: Scored game-winner in 1-0 win against Pac-Five.
Brandon Green, Kalani: Helped send Kailua to first loss by scoring game's only goal.
Karley Peterson, Leilehua: Netted the game's lone goal in win against Radford.
Michael Ryman, Campbell: Scored four goals against Kapolei and two more in win over Waianae.
Robert Shinn, Pearl City: Scored five goals in two games, including all three in 3-1 win over Mililani.
Sarah Takekawa, Kailua: Scored two of team's three goals in 3-1 win against Kalani.
SOFTBALL
Penny Chock, Sacred Hearts: Knocked in game-winning run in bottom of the 11th in 1-0 win against University, and had five assists and two putouts at shortstop.Cassie Chun-Ming, Roosevelt: Doubled in winning run in 2-1 win at Kaiser.
Tracy Kane, Waianae: Went 3-for-3 with a home run, triple and four RBIs in win over Radford.
Lia Pedrina, Castle: Shut out previously-unbeaten Kailua on seven hits.

A 'LEGEND'-ARY TOURNAMENT
The Walter Wong Tournament is held in honor of one of the greatest coaches in Hawaii history. In 24 years at St. Louis, Wong amassed a 409-87 (.825) record, won nine Interscholastic League of Honolulu titles and five state championships. After retiring as coach, he served as the school's athletic director. The tournament began in 1983.
Back in the Day
ONE YEAR AGO THIS WEEK
St. Louis fell to East Anchorage (Alaska), 84-48, in the final of the Walter Wong Tournament. The Thunderbirds -- led by MVP Brandon Edwards -- won each tournament game by an average of 30 points. Edwards scored 22 points in the final.In the semifinals, St. Louis beat Kalaheo, 44-36, with Kalvin Koverman scoring 13 points. East Anchorage beat Iolani in the other semi.
In the third-place game, Ikaika Francis hit for 23 points to lead the Mustangs past the Raiders, 47-44.
The Thunderbirds, who were fifth in the Iolani Classic, completed their visit to Hawaii with a 5-2 record.
The Crusaders were runners-up in the state tournament in February and the Mustangs finished fifth.
