The Sony Open in Hawaii golf tournament has added a satellite pro-am event on Jan. 17 at the Kapolei Golf Course. Sony Open

The SonyHawaii.com Pro-Am will feature teams of one PGA Tour pro with four amateur partners. The four amateurs need to have a combined team total handicap not exceed 66 (21 individual high for men, 27 individual high for women).
The fee is $750 per amateur and will include a golf clinic by PGA Tour pros, gift package and refreshments.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. the day of the event, followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
The pro-am event is part of the $4 million Sony Open in Hawaii. The PGA Tour event is scheduled for Jan. 18-21 at Waialae Country Club.

Wong Tournament set
St. Louis School will host the annual Walter Wong Holiday Basketball Classic at McCabe Gym beginning Dec. 28.This year's field will feature two teams from California, two from Washington, one from Alaska and one from Kentucky. Rounding out the tournament field will be the St. Louis Division I and Division II squads.
Games run from 3 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. daily. The championship game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 30. Daily admission is $3 for students, $5 for adults.
The three-day tournament is named after one of Hawaii's greatest prep basketball coaches.
Samoa golf tournament
The first Samoa International Golf Tournament, a benefit for scholar-athletes and junior golf of Samoan ancestry, is scheduled for Feb. 2 at The Links at Kuilima.The format is a three-person team scramble. The cost is $95 per person or $285 per team.
