holiday hiatus till Jan. 1

In an early Christmas present to Oahu motorists, the state suspended lane closures for construction projects on state highways through midnight Jan. 1.

City and Board of Water Supply projects are continuing, however.

The only state lane closure during this time will be one lane on H-2 Freeway for a highway lighting project.

The following lane closures will not be in effect for the next two weeks:

H-1 Freeway -- Paiwa interchange to Kahala Mall.

Kalanianaole Highway, Kahala Mall to Lunalilo Home Road.

Kamehameha Highway, Waiawa interchange to Valkenburgh Street.

Nimitz Highway/Ala Moana, Middle Street to Kalakaua Avenue.

Kalihi Street/Likelike Highway, Nimitz Highway to Kamehameha Highway.

Pali Highway/Kailua Road, Vineyard Boulevard to Kailua Town.

Vineyard Boulevard, Palama Street to Punchbowl Street.

Pearl City: 808 to 926 Puu Kula Drive, inner curb; and Hoolaulea Street, makai side from Waimano Home Road to Hoomalu Street.
