It will be the first-ever Army game for UH, which has played against Air Force and Navy.
"I'm excited to get Army on our schedule," UH coach June Jones said. "I wish we could make it an annual event, not just with Army but with all the academies."
Silverswords win big
Chaminade bolted to a 30-point halftime lead on 62 percent shooting from the floor and coasted to an 84-57 basketball victory over Northwest Nazarene last night at McCabe Gym.CJ Cogwill scored 22 points, David Toya 20 and Robert Watson 19 to lead the Silverswords.
Josh Cooprider was the lone double-figure scorer for the visitors with 12 points.
Kahuku coach at QB Club
Siuaki Livai, head coach of Kahuku High School's state championship football team, will join Mike Wilton, head coach of the University of Hawaii men's volleyball team, and Jim Leahey, as featured speakers at Monday's Honolulu Quarterback Club luncheon meeting.The club also will honor the sports persons for the month of November: Nia Tuitele of Hawaii Pacific University national champion women's volleyball team, and Keith Amemiya, executive director of the Hawaii High School Athletic Association.
Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Pagoda Restaurant. The program follows at noon.
Drag racing showdowns
The season finale of the Goodyear Top Gun series and Budweiser Gold Cup competition highlight tonight's drag racing action at Hawaii Raceway Park.Vince Generalao and Myles Tigioka, both of Kailua, are expected to go head-to-head for the Goodyear Top Gun Driver of the Year trophy.
Gates open at 4 p.m. The final rounds start at 8:30.
The weekend racing winds up tomorrow afternoon with the final Silver Cup series event sponsored by Pearl Harbor Transmission. Gates open at 10 a.m.
