It was a perfect finish for the Star-Bulletin's Football Fever. Final Football Fever
winner goes 10-0Star-Bulletin staff
Esteban Lau of Honolulu went 10-0 on the final week of the Hula Bowl Maui-sponsored contest. Lau wins $500 and two tickets to next month's college all-star game at War Memorial Stadium.
Lau's ballot -- and the other estimated 90,000 ballots -- will go into the hopper for three drawings. The grand prize is a year's use of a Ford Mustang convertible, courtesy of Thrifty Car Rental; the runner-up prize is two round-trip tickets to the mainland to any city serviced by Delta Airlines, and the first prize is a pager and a year of service from Ram Paging Hawaii.
The drawing will be held next month and winners announced in the Star-Bulletin and on KINE radio.
The Star-Bulletin's Randy Cadiente and Frank B. Shaner of KINE tied for the best record among the six-member panel. Both had 104-46 records over 15 weeks. Robert Kekaula of KITV was alone in third at 99-51, followed by KITV's Dan Meisenzahl (96-54). KINE's Brickwood Galuteria was at 94-56 with the Star-Bulletin's Cindy Luis at 91-59.
