University of Hawaii offensive lineman Kynan Forney has received an invitation, running back James Fenderson will likely get one soon and University of Oklahoma quarterback Josh Heupel may be on board as well. Forneys got mail

Star-BulletinSuch is the life of Hula Bowl executive director Lenny Klompus, who talked with the selection committee yesterday to finalize the two teams taking part in the 55th annual college all-star game.
"We're very excited about the players already committed to coming here," Klompus said yesterday. "I spoke with (UH assistant coach) Rich Miano yesterday and extended an invitation for Kynan Forney.
"We're very close to sending an invitation to James Fenderson, we just have to wait a few days to see where we're at, but James is first up. As for Josh, well, he won't make a commitment until after the national championship game if Oklahoma is in it. But we feel very good about our chances."
It doesn't hurt being directly involved with the Heisman Trophy committee. Heupel is the leading contender to win the award that will be given out Dec. 9. Klompus and his wife, Marcia, are headed to New York next week to take part in the event.
Heisman hopeful Drew Brees already is committed to playing in the Jan. 20 game. The senior quarterback led Purdue to the Rose Bowl.
Nebraska punter Dan Hadenfeldt also is making a return engagement. He took part in last year's Hula Bowl, but after receiving another year of eligibility by the NCAA, Hadenfeldt is coming back again.
"He's the best punter in the Big 12 and could have gone anywhere, but he wanted to come here," Klompus said. "We already have Torrance Marshall and J.T. Thatcher of Oklahoma, so we feel like Josh will come with them once he makes a decision."
