Pianist Zumbro
returns

Pianist Nicholas Zumbro returns to Hawaii to perform in concert Friday and to conduct a discussion for keyboard enthusiasts tomorrow.

The informal discussion will begin at 6 p.m. at Punahou's music school, where he will comment on repertoire, recording and teaching. He also will play at the event and show video clips from his opera "Kassandra."

Friday's concert begins at 7 p.m. at Mozart House, 720 Iwilei Road, on the third floor. Zumbro will play selections by Bach, Liszt, Schumann, Granados and Ravel.

Zumbro, a professor at the University of Arizona School of Music, taught at the University of Hawaii and performed with Honolulu Symphony conductor Robert La Marchina and other island musicians.

Both events are free, but reservations are required for the concert because seating is limited. Call 537-3441.
