A man, his wife and 6-year-old daughter were injured when their car struck a utility pole at 6:45 p.m. yesterday at the corner of Mooheau Avenue and Paliuli Street in Kapahulu.

All are in fair condition at Queen's Medical Center.

Police said a physical confrontation between the couple led to the crash. Charges of abuse of a household member are pending against the man, police added.

The resulting power outage left 2,300 Hawaiian Electric Co. customers in the dark for more than three hours. Their lights went out at 6:46 p.m., said Fred Kobashikawa, Heco spokesman.

The outage affected Kapahulu, Campbell, Kanaina and 6th avenues and Brokaw, Winam, Castle, Williams and Hunter streets.

"We restored power to most of the customers at 10:23 p.m.," Kobashikawa said, except for 100 customers on Winam Avenue and Williams and Hunter streets, near the KFC outlet at 647 Kapahulu.
