Star-BulletinClinton was supposed to arrive Saturday for a weekend visit before traveling to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting in Brunei on Nov. 13.
However, he now plans to meet with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat on Thursday and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak on Sunday.
Victoria Valentine, White House spokeswoman, said today that the president will arrive here Sunday night.
Gov. Ben Cayetano said yesterday that he expects to golf with Clinton Monday before the president leaves Kona that night. He is expected to stay at the Mauna Lani Resort in South Kohala.
Cayetano said former Govs. George Ariyoshi and John Waihee may join the foursome.
Traveling with the president will be daughter Chelsea, who stopped here on her way to the Olympic Games in Australia. First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton will join him Nov. 16 in Hanoi.
While in Vietnam, the president is expected to visit an area near Hanoi that is being searched for the remains of an F-105 Delta fighter believed to have been shot down in 1967.
The presidential party will leave Ho Chi Minh City Nov. 20.
