"It'll be most of the Olympians and we'll eat with the President and talk with him," said Viloria, who boxed at Sydney but was upset in his second bout.
Viloria will also attend a function in his honor at the State Capitol on Wednesday. He continues to negotiate with pro boxing organizations but isn't ready to sign.
Wahine on second team
University of Hawaii soccer players Camille Kalama, Leila Wai and Arlene Devitt have been named second-team All-Western Athletic Conference in a vote by the league's coaches.Kalama and Wai were steady defenders for the Wahine.
It is the first time the senior co-captains earned all-WAC honors.
Devitt, a freshman striker, led UH in scoring with seven goals and three assists for 17 points.
Jill Pearson, a senior striker for Fresno State, was named Player of the Year. Kim Harvey, a Southern Methodist University freshman midfielder, was selected Freshman of the Year. SMU coach George Van Linder was honored as Coach of the Year.
First-team honors for Komine
Shane Komine has been named a first-team, preseason All American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.Komine, a junior right-hander at Nebraska, was 11-4 with a 2.24 earned run average last year.
In 124 2/3 innings, he struck out 159 and walked 31 batters.
Lady Sea Warriors roll on
No. 1 Hawaii Pacific won its 20th straight women's volleyball match yesterday, sweeping host Western New Mexico, 15-4, 15-7, 15-5.Flavia Gabinio paced HPU with 12 kills in the NCAA Division II Pacific West Conference win.
It was also the 20th consecutive win on the mainland for HPU (20-0, 13-0 PacWest), dating back to 1997.
Western New Mexico dropped to 13-14, 3-10.
Seasiders net road win
BYU-Hawaii beat host Montana State-Billings yesterday, 15-5, 15-9, 15-6, to improve to 11-2 in the PacWest and 15-5 overall.Karla Ribeiro led the Seasiders with 17 kills and five block assists.
The Yellowjackets are 9-19, 5-8.
PacWest academic stars
Fifteen players from Hawaii schools have been named to the Pacific West Conference Academic Soccer TeamDefender Merrill Johnson, a junior from Brigham Young University-Hawaii, has the highest grade-point average among the men's academic all-stars. Johnson, an international business major from Silverdale, Wash., has a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Leading the women's squad are midfielders Jannicke Snildal from Hawaii Pacific and Teresa Katnik of Seattle University. Snildal, a senior history major from Orkanger, Norway, has a 3.94 GPA. Katnik, a sophomore from Sacramento, has a 3.933 GPA.
Also named to the men's team from BYUH are sophomore Ryan Parker, biology and French, 3.715 (Salt Lake City, Utah) and senior Glyn Drewery, psychology, 3.578 (Norfolk, England).
HPU men honored are senior Elie Sauma, business administration, 3.75 (Sundbyberg, Sweden); sophomore Kyle Lenahan, justice administration, 3.66 (Kailua); senior Iovo Stefanov, computer information systems, 3.56 (Sofia, Bulgaria); senior Olav Fryrileiv, diplomacy and military studies, 3.25 (Notodden, Norway), and junior Roar Berg, business administration, 3.52 (Kirkenes, Norway).
Sea Warrior women selected include senior Kolea Andreas-Feeney, nursing, 3.78 (Kaneohe); junior Hoku Ornellas, nursing, 3.78 (Kahaluu); junior Kaua Aiu, nursing, 3.42 (Honolulu); sophomore Jill Fujimoto, human resources, 3.37 (Kaneohe); junior Hanna Olofsson, history, 3.33 (Grabo, Sweden), and junior Dawn Ifuku, human services, 3.23 (Honolulu).
