Interesting facts: San Jose State is second in the WAC to Hawaii. ... Hawaii now has the WAC's top three percentage hitters in Gustin, Kahumoku and Lima. ... Gallop leads the WAC in kills. ... Choate was WAC coach of the year last season after leading the Spartans to 25-6 record. ... Including tomorrow, the Wahine have six matches left on the WAC schedule, and five are at home. They play at home again Saturday against Fresno State (5-4, 12-11)
Game keys: The Wahine need to contain Gallop as they did when they swept at San Jose State on Sept. 30 But they might have to get along without the services of Kahumoku, No. 2 in kills behind Gallop. The "Poi Pounder" suffered bruised cartilage in her right wrist during a practice on the road last week is still very sore.
End quote: "With a win, we can almost wrap up things (in the WAC). We a two-game lead, we can breathe easier.'' -- Wahine coach Dave Shoji.
