Photographs often are the best way to show dramatic changes in Hawaii, providing an easy update on landmarks, persons and events. At other times, however, photos showing minimal changes during the years remind us that the more things change, the more they remain the same. Look for examples of big and little changes every Monday in "It's about time," which will inform, update and prod a few memories.The Honolulu Star-Bulletin is the oldest daily newspaper in continuous publication in the Islands (the Honolulu Advertiser, once a weekly, is the oldest newspaper in continuous publication). Canadian newspaper owner David Black is negotiating to buy the Star-Bulletin, preventing it from ending its run. If Black's bid is successful, the Star-Bulletin will move from its present home at 605 Kapiolani Blvd., where it has published since 1963. Stay tuned.
